What Accelerated Christian Education actually means

ACE is not a syllabus bolted onto a normal classroom. It changes how the day runs, how work is set, and how progress is measured.

Individualised learning

Every child works through their PACEs at the pace their diagnostic test sets, not the pace of the room.

Back to basic skills

Reading, writing and arithmetic are mastered before they are built on, with no gaps carried forward.

Character development

Sixty character traits are taught alongside the academics and scored in the same way.

Kindergarten

Early years

Our early years follow the ACE ABCs with Ace and Christi programme: sixty animal-phonics characters that take a child from letter sounds to reading full sentences, usually inside a single school year.

Days are short, structured and physical. Phonics and numbers in the morning while attention is freshest, then art, music, outdoor play on the lawn, and rest. Nothing is asked of a four-year-old for longer than a four-year-old can give it.

    The phonics programme is designed so a child reads simple sentences before they leave kindergarten.

  • Small groups

    Early years are staffed so no child waits long for an adult's attention.

  • Room to move

    Outdoor play on the school's lawns is timetabled every day, not squeezed in when there is time.

Primary School at Sulazi Academy

Ages 6-12

Primary School

Levels 1-6

Every child is placed by diagnostic test, not by age. They work through PACEs (short, self-contained workbooks) at the level the test found, so a child strong in mathematics and still building in English is met correctly in both.

Goals are set each Monday and go home each Friday. A parent always knows precisely which PACE their child is on, what score they took, and what is due next. There are no end-of-term surprises.

  • Placed by diagnostic

    A written test at entry sets the starting level in each subject, closing any gaps before they compound.

  • Mastery at 80%

    A PACE is not passed below 80%. Work that is not yet understood is repeated rather than carried forward.

  • Weekly goals home

    Goal cards go home every week, so progress is visible to parents continuously.

Secondary School at Sulazi Academy

Ages 13-18

Secondary School

Levels 7-12

Senior students continue on ACE through to Level 12, with laboratory sciences, mathematics, English and the social sciences, alongside practical workshop sessions and the school's own enrichment programme.

The individualised structure matters more here, not less. A student preparing for external examinations works at the intensity their target requires, supervised closely, without waiting on the pace of a class of thirty.

    Laboratory sciences and workshop sessions run alongside the academic programme.

    The ACE character traits are taught and assessed as seriously as the academic subjects.

Common questions about the programmes

Accelerated Christian Education is an individualised programme built on short workbooks called PACEs. Each child is placed by diagnostic test and works at their own level, mastering each PACE at 80% or above before moving on. It is Christ-centred, character-focused and closely involves parents.

Yes. Because every child works through their own PACEs rather than a shared class schedule, a new student can start at any point in the term without arriving mid-topic.

From age 2 in Kindergarten through to age 18 at the end of Level 12. The three programmes are Kindergarten (2-5), Primary (6-12) and Secondary (13-18).

Yes. Sulazi Academy is openly Christ-centred and the curriculum is taught from a biblical worldview, and we welcome families who are content for their child to learn in that setting.

The day opens with devotion and assembly, then supervised academic work in the learning centre with goals set for each student. Afternoons carry practical subjects, sport and extracurricular activities on the school's lawns.
